About The Position

This is a skilled position involving control and operation of the Rake/Lute on an asphalt paving crew. The role works on road construction projects and involves finishing asphalt to the required grade and surface quality. Other manual tasks may be assigned by the supervisor. The listed job duties are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be willing to work varying hours and possible weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience operating an Asphalt Rake/Lute on road construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Rake asphalt to the proper grade and finish before compaction.
• Match and finish freshly made asphalt paving joints.
• Smooth and adjust surface irregularities in asphalt to restore the surface finish.
• Assist the Screed Operator with maintaining the grade and screed extensions.
• Perform other manual tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
