About The Position

APAC Alabama, Inc., part of CRH’s South Division, is seeking an Asphalt Laborer for road construction work in Birmingham, Alabama. The position performs general labor duties on a heavy highway or production crew, helping with construction activities and maintaining safe, orderly work areas. Work may include shoveling, raking, traffic control, moving materials, setting forms, cleaning concrete forms, pouring concrete, and vibrating concrete. Prior experience in heavy highway construction is preferred, and experience around asphalt and equipment-operating skills would be beneficial.

Requirements

• Able to repeatedly lift up to 30 pounds.
• Able to walk, stoop, squat, sit, and kneel.
• Capable of passing a required physical examination.
• Knowledge of basic tools and their uses.
• Basic mathematical and measurement skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Maintain reliable attendance and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities
