About The Position

Muse Paintbar is a guided painting experience with 26 studios across the East Coast. We offer a unique social painting experience where customers can enjoy food and drinks while creating their own artwork. We are not a gallery or a traditional classroom, but rather a fun night out that involves painting.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on painting experience, acrylics preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Punctuality.
  • A real service instinct.
  • Comfortable with technology used in sessions, including microphones, printers, and sound systems.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 20% weekly.
  • Flexible availability, with weekends and evenings required.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • TIPS and ServSafe certification (training and payment provided if not already certified).
  • Ability to stand for long stretches.
  • Ability to step onto and off of elevated surfaces frequently.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, move, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move through the studio quickly and safely, including tight spaces and raised surfaces like the stage.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with music and large groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related art field.
  • Experience teaching or leading a group.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Muse signature paintings according to guidelines and display the approved master above the stage before each session.
  • Use provided templates to break down paintings into steps that beginners can follow.
  • Lead painting sessions from start to finish, ensuring the room is engaged and the schedule is maintained.
  • Provide step-by-step guidance during painting sessions, keeping attendees engaged and on time.
  • Print attendee lists, assign group seating, and set up palettes before doors open.
  • Greet guests, guide them to their seats, and distribute aprons.
  • Direct guests to the menu and handle food and drink orders at the bar and tableside.
  • Check in with painters during the session and take additional orders.
  • Capture photos during the session for social media.
  • Clean up and reset the studio after each session to prepare for the next.
  • When assigned as Cook, prepare and plate food orders with attention to presentation and safety.
  • Follow the kitchen checklist, maintain a clean workspace, and stay updated on equipment and safety standards.
  • Be cross-trained to share responsibilities, cover where needed, and prioritize the guest experience.
