About The Position
Top Guard Security is hiring Armed Security Officers for a client location in Hampton. Officers monitor the client’s facility and property, provide access control, check identification and vehicles, conduct facility and grounds patrols, and escort visitors. They must follow Top Guard policies and any requirements set by the client, maintain professional customer service, make appropriate situational decisions and notifications, and write reports on an electronic device or on paper. This is a full-time position with first-, second-, and third-shift and weekend schedules. Weekends and holidays are required. There are 10 openings. The position pays $20–$22.50.
Requirements
- At least two years of armed experience in security, law enforcement, or corrections.
- Current, active DCJS Armed Card.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Clear criminal history for a background investigation.
- Valid driver’s license and current driving record with no more than three tickets.
- Reliable transportation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak audibly and clearly so information is understood or authorities can be contacted.
- Professional demeanor, customer-service skills, reliability, dependability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, up to a full eight-hour shift.
- Weekends and holidays required.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the assigned client’s facility and property.
- Control access to secured facilities and conduct ID and vehicle checks.
- Patrol the facility, parking lot, and grounds.
- Escort visitors.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and meet company customer-service expectations.
- Follow Top Guard policies and parameters defined by the assigned client.
- Make situational decisions and notify appropriate client personnel and Top Guard management as needed.
- Write reports using a provided electronic device or on paper.
