ARMED Security Officers HEALTH CARE setting in Newport News $22.50 (Operations)
About The Position
Top Guard Security is hiring Armed Security Officers for access control at a large medical facility in Newport News, Virginia. Officers serve and safeguard the client, staff, visitors, and building by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials and visitor identities, documenting visitors, issuing and retrieving visitor badges, and maintaining a professional presence to help deter security-related incidents. The role also involves patrolling the facility, communicating with staff about visitors and issues, and providing customer service while supporting site operations through teamwork and integrity. Other duties may be assigned by the Account Manager or client. The position pays $22.50 per hour and offers full-time and part-time schedules across first, second, and third shifts, including weekend shifts. Candidates must hold a DCJS Armed License and be willing to obtain baton certification. A background check and drug screening are required before starting, with possible random drug screenings at the client's request.
Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a DCJS Armed License/card.
- Must have or be able to obtain CPR/AED certification.
- Must be willing to obtain baton certification.
- Must complete an extensive background check before starting work.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and may be subject to random screenings at the client's request.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods; stoop, bend, pull, push, grasp, walk, run, carry, and climb; and infrequently lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Control access to the medical facility.
- Patrol the facility.
- Check in visitors, verify their identities, document them, issue visitor badges, and retrieve badges when they leave.
- Communicate with staff about visitors and issues occurring at the facility.
- Maintain a professional presence and provide customer service to help deter security-related incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Account Manager and/or client.
