About The Position

The Armed Security Officer protects Signet Jewelers’ people, property, and assets and helps maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors. The position is based at the corporate office and distribution center and works the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The starting hourly rate is $20.00.

The role includes enforcing security procedures and company policies, controlling access, screening distribution areas, inspecting outgoing materials, conducting patrols, monitoring activity, responding to incidents, and preparing accurate reports. The officer also supports investigations and asset recovery with the Security Leadership Team, completes ongoing security-related training, and maintains a professional, approachable presence with employees and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior private security experience.
• Valid 20-Hour Private Security Firearms Certificate (O.P.O.T.C.), or ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
• Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to protecting others.

Nice To Haves

• Criminal Justice degree preferred.
• Military or law enforcement background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard the facility and distribution center by enforcing security procedures and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Protect company assets through access control, screening of distribution areas, and inspection of outgoing materials, including mail and trash recovery.
• Conduct patrols, monitor activities, respond promptly to incidents, and maintain detailed and accurate reports.
• Support investigations and asset recovery efforts in collaboration with the Security Leadership Team.
• Complete ongoing training in firearms, hazardous materials, public safety, and security operations.
• Build trust and rapport with employees and visitors by maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
• Perform other assignments and projects as directed by leadership.
