About The Position

Top Guard Security is hiring Armed Security Officers in Hampton to monitor the facilities and property of assigned clients. Officers are expected to provide professional customer service, follow Top Guard and client requirements, make situational decisions, notify appropriate personnel, and prepare reports using an electronic device or paper. They also make appropriate notifications to the client’s assigned contact and Top Guard management. The position requires work on weekends and holidays and offers first-, second-, and third-shift schedules, including weekends. Top Guard describes itself as a regional security provider serving the Virginia Peninsula, Southside, Chesterfield, and Greater Richmond areas.

Requirements

• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, up to a full eight-hour shift.
• Speak audibly and clearly so information is understood and authorities can be contacted.
• Hold DCJS Armed and DCJS Unarmed cards.
• Have a clear criminal history for the background investigation.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a current driving record with no more than three tickets.
• Military or security experience.
• Work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the facility and property of the assigned client.
• Maintain professional conduct and meet company customer-service expectations.
• Follow Top Guard rules and parameters defined by the assigned client.
• Make situational decisions and notify appropriate personnel when needed.
• Write reports using a provided electronic device or on paper.
• Notify the client’s assigned contact and Top Guard management as appropriate.
