About The Position

Marksman Security is seeking professional, people-oriented Armed Security Patrol Officers for its Public Safety Team in the Myrtle Beach Area. Officers help maintain a secure and welcoming environment for guests, tenants, and staff across retail, dining, and entertainment areas. The role involves regular foot and vehicle patrols, public assistance, responding to incidents, supporting surveillance and retail tenants, documenting activity, and helping maintain safe facilities and traffic flow. Candidates should be dependable, calm under pressure, and comfortable engaging with the public.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a SLED security license.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain any required state or local security license or certification.
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Able to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record check, and criminal background check.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Able to meet the physical essential functions of the job, including lifting 50+ lbs, completing foot patrols, walking up and down stairs, and working in inclement weather.
No face or neck tattoos.
Must have a professional presence and demeanor.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of experience in security, law enforcement, or a customer-facing role is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform regular foot and vehicle patrols throughout retail stores, restaurants, parking lots, entertainment zones, and pedestrian walkways.
Assist guests courteously by providing directions, answering questions, and maintaining a visible, approachable presence.
Respond professionally to disturbances, emergencies, medical situations, and suspicious activity; take appropriate action and coordinate with authorities or emergency services as needed.
Collaborate with the surveillance team to monitor CCTV systems and report irregular activities or safety concerns.
Maintain detailed incident and activity reports, including patrol logs, observed hazards, and guest interactions.
Help manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic during peak hours, events, or special promotions.
Work with retail tenants to deter theft or fraud and support store managers with internal investigations when necessary.
Check doors, windows, lighting, and fire safety equipment to ensure facilities are secure and operational.
Promote awareness of property rules, safety protocols, and emergency procedures among guests and staff.
Use communication and conflict-resolution skills to manage disputes between guests, vendors, or staff peacefully.
Perform other duties as assigned.
