About The Position
Top Guard Security is hiring Armed Security Officers to serve and safeguard a client, its staff, visitors, and building at a large medical facility in Newport News, Virginia. Officers will provide access control, monitor entry points, verify credentials and visitor identities, document visitors, issue and retrieve visitor badges, and maintain a professional presence to help deter security-related incidents. The role calls for exceptional customer service, clear communication, teamwork, and integrity. Applicants must hold a DCJS Armed License and be willing to obtain baton certification and CPR/AED certification if they do not already have it. The position is listed as full-time and part-time, with first, second, and third shifts and weekend work available or required. Pay is $22.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Must have a DCJS Armed License.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check; random drug screenings may also be required at the client's request.
- Must be willing to obtain baton certification.
- Must have or be able to obtain CPR/AED certification.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods and perform physical activities including stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, grasping, walking, running, carrying, and climbing.
- Must be able to infrequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Control access to the medical facility and monitor entry points.
- Patrol the facility.
- Check in visitors by verifying identity, documenting their visit, issuing visitor badges, and retrieving badges when they leave.
- Communicate with facility staff regarding visitors and issues that occur.
- Maintain a professional presence and attitude to help deter security-related incidents.
- Provide customer service and support site operations through teamwork and clear communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Account Manager or client.
