About The Position

ACT Security Group is seeking security officers to join its team in Austin, Texas. The company provides security services and offers full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible schedules. Officers may work first, second, or third shifts, weekends, or summers. Assignments may involve working indoors or outdoors and may have additional assignment-specific benefits. The position requires applicable Texas eligibility and security licensing; armed assignments require the appropriate commissioned security officer credentials. Previous security experience is preferred but is not required for all assignments.

Requirements

Meet applicable Texas eligibility and licensing requirements for the position.
Complete Level II training and registration requirements for noncommissioned security officer positions.
Hold the appropriate Texas commissioned security officer credentials for armed positions.
Have strong communication and customer-service skills.
Be able to follow instructions and complete written reports.
Maintain reliable attendance and professional conduct.
Successfully complete the employer's applicable background screening.
Be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Be able to work indoors or outdoors, depending on the assignment.
Be able to remain alert throughout the assigned shift.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned buildings, parking lots, and property.
Monitor entrances and exits and verify visitor authorization.
Observe and report suspicious activity.
Enforce site rules and access-control procedures.
Respond to disturbances and emergencies according to training and company policy.
Prepare accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
Assist visitors, employees, and customers professionally.
Communicate security concerns to supervisors and emergency responders when necessary.
