About The Position
The Area Manager - Floor oversees an assigned area of responsibility at a Walmart supply chain facility. The role implements the area business plan by communicating goals, managing staffing and schedules, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to meet facility goals for production, quality, and safety. The manager monitors productivity and reviews or analyzes business reports, maintains quality and safety standards, and addresses associate, customer, or supplier concerns. The position supervises and develops associates and leaders by assigning work, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching and modeling company policies and procedures, identifying development needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, and evaluation. The role also calls for building collaborative, high-performing teams; acting with integrity; serving customers and members; using data to make decisions; and pursuing continuous improvement and learning. The position is based at 3100 IL Highway 89, Spring Valley, Illinois. Walmart describes competitive pay, performance-based bonuses, benefits, and education assistance. The annual salary range is $65,500 to $98,000, with additional compensation that may include performance bonuses, regional pay-zone compensation, or stock for certain positions.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field and 1 year of supervisory experience; or bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field; or 1 year of Walmart Logistics Management experience; or 2 years of Walmart Logistics experience; or 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Must attend and successfully complete all job-required training and assessments.

Responsibilities
- Communicate verbally and in writing with individuals and groups, including customers, suppliers, and associates.
- Implement the business plan for the assigned area by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals.
- Monitor and manage productivity by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports.
- Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures; monitoring compliance; and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
- Identify associate, customer, and supplier concerns, consult with others as needed, and determine or recommend corrective actions.
- Supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
- Teach, support, and model Logistics and company policies and procedures; identify training and development needs; and participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation.
- Build collaborative, high-performing teams and foster a workplace where associates feel supported and included.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance, and hold oneself and others accountable.
- Make customer-focused decisions using data, insights, and analysis while balancing short- and long-term priorities.
