Architectural Engineer, Capacity Delivery

FluidstackAustin, TX
$150,000 - $204,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, aiming to deliver 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. This involves rethinking every layer of the stack, from acquiring power to designing and operating data centers. The Capacity Delivery Team is crucial in this mission, focusing on engineering gigawatts from drawing to energized in months, not years. They engineer data centers that can be built rapidly, ensuring problems are caught on paper to avoid costly rework. The team also drives a 'design it once, build it a hundred times' philosophy, incorporating lessons learned from each site into a reference design to accelerate future builds. The role of an Architectural Engineer on this team involves owning the architectural scope for assigned sites, including envelope, code compliance, and life safety, from review through closeout. This includes reviewing architectural packages for constructability and conformance to the reference design, driving permitting and AHJ coordination, and resolving field architectural issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in architectural engineering or architecture on industrial or mission critical projects.
  • Knowledge of building code and life safety at the chapter-and-section level.
  • Experience running AHJ relationships and getting to 'yes' on nonstandard designs.
  • Ability to identify and address envelope details that could lead to issues before construction.
