About The Position

The Architectural Draftsman Specialist supports facility planning, design, construction, and compliance by converting legacy 2D architectural documentation into accurate, data-rich 3D Revit models and maintaining those models to reflect existing conditions and approved design intent.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit required.
  • Knowledge of architectural drafting principles, design techniques, and BIM workflows.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and building systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation under the ADA.

Nice To Haves

  • Autodesk Revit certification preferred.
  • Construction or facilities-related background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Convert legacy 2D AutoCAD drawings, floor plans, and building layouts into coordinated 3D Revit models in accordance with established Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain Revit models including architectural elements, rooms and spaces, levels, grids, and building components.
  • Transfer and validate data from 2D drawings into Revit, ensuring accuracy of geometry, room boundaries, departments, square footage, volumes, and spatial relationships.
  • Create and maintain Revit schedules, including room and space schedules, department and area summaries, door and window schedules, room finishes, square footage and volume calculations, and furniture/equipment schedules.
  • Maintain Revit views, sheets, and documentation sets to support design development, facility planning, and construction activities.
  • Update architectural models to reflect renovations, remodels, as-built conditions, and ongoing facility changes, ensuring models remain current and reliable.
  • Coordinate architectural models with structural, electrical, mechanical, and process disciplines to support interdisciplinary coordination and identify conflicts.
  • Support facility planning and space management efforts by providing accurate model data, schedules, reports, and visualizations.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Produce drawings, schedules, and model views for reviews, approvals, and decision-making by architects, engineers, and facility stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits as required to verify existing conditions, perform field measurements, document discrepancies, and incorporate field-verified information into Revit models.
  • Maintain accurate furniture, workstation, production table, and equipment layouts through ongoing updates and field verification.
  • Maintain required training, follow safety requirements, and work professionally and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
