About The Position
As a Draftsman, you will play a critical role in transforming vision into proposed plans by producing accurate, coordinated construction documents that drive our projects from concept to completion. This position supports business development, project managers, superintendents, and trade partners by developing detailed drawings, revising plans, and ensuring constructability across disciplines. The Draftsman helps maintain the quality, efficiency, and accountability that define our reputation in commercial construction.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Revit
- Create and manage 3D models for commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of building codes and permitting processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Problem-solving mindset
- Organizational and time management skills
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with MEP coordination is a plus
- Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Experience working with a commercial general contractor preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed construction drawings using Revit software
- Develop construction plans for commercial projects, including but not limited to permit set plans and 3D models
- Convert conceptual designs and redlines into construction-ready drawings
- Revise drawings based on feedback
- Produce shop drawings, as-built drawings, and permit sets
- Coordinate drawings across trades (MEP, structural, civil) to avoid conflicts
- Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and ADA requirements
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in company systems
- Participate in project coordination meetings as needed
- Other duties as assigned
