About The Position

The Aquatics Coordinator assists with oversight of the day-to-day operations and personnel of the aquatics department. The role supports staffing, programming, administrative functions, and direct service hours, with a focus on safety and risk management. The position includes approximately 25 weekly program hours in addition to administrative duties.

Requirements

• An associate’s degree or higher in sports management, recreation management, applied health, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, and/or Swim Team Coach, with demonstrated attention to risk management, team development, and programming.
• Current nationally recognized Swim Instructor and/or Lifeguard certifications.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of general computer and tablet functions, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support development of the department staff schedule.
• Provide direct program support as a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, and/or Swim Team Coach.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and development of department employees.
• Help provide employees with regular feedback, coaching, and evaluation.
• Assist with administration and monitoring of the department budget.
• Support department communications with members and participant parents.
• Support birthday parties, including booking, payment, contracts, and coordination with aquatics and welcome center staff.
• Support the supervisor in overseeing the care and maintenance of related equipment and facilities.
