About The Position

The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is seeking a safety-minded, community-driven Aquatics Coordinator to help plan, develop, manage, and execute a diversified aquatics program. Working under the direction of the Aquatics Director, this role supports high safety standards, coordinates swimming lessons—including the 2nd Grade Swim program—maintains aquatics facilities, and hosts community aquatic events. The position is full-time, hourly, and scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

Proven background in aquatics management, lifeguarding, swim instruction, and coordinating swim meets.
Strong familiarity with and direct application of emergency management guidelines.
Current, valid certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in swim instruction is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Prioritize and safeguard the lives of members, guests, and pool participants.
Supervise, train, and support lifeguards, swim instructors, seasonal employees, and volunteers to ensure successful pool operations.
Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive relationships with members, staff, visitors, and YMCA constituents.
Coordinate swim lessons, including the 2nd Grade Swim program.
Maintain aquatic facilities and perform other departmental duties as needed.
Help plan, develop, manage, and execute a diversified aquatics program.
Host community aquatic events.
