Carter Machinery is hiring an Apprentice Technician in Waldorf, Maryland, to participate in its in-house, fully accredited 15-month apprenticeship program. The program is intended for people with strong mechanical aptitude, including high school graduates, veterans leaving the military, and technicians transitioning from other mechanical fields. Apprentices receive paid training and full-time benefits without education expenses while learning to troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment problems, repair, recondition, and service heavy equipment and components. The role supports Carter Machinery’s service of the Caterpillar product line, including earthmoving equipment, mining and forestry equipment, generators, and engines. The program is nationally recognized by the Federal Department of Labor and accredited through the Commonwealth of Virginia. Starting compensation is $22.00–$24.00 per hour; actual base pay may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business considerations. The compensation package may also include performance-based incentives and overtime eligibility depending on the role.
