Apprentice Technician - Jaguar Land Rover Houston Central
About The Position
The Apprentice Technician supports the service team by performing minor repairs and routine maintenance while learning hands-on under the guidance of an assigned Master Technician mentor. The role is designed to build the foundational skills and experience needed to advance into a flat-rate technician position. OEM training and on-the-job mentorship are provided. The position begins with hourly pay during an apprenticeship period that typically lasts six months. After completing the apprenticeship, the technician is eligible for a raise and transition to a flat-rate pay structure, with opportunities to grow hours and income.
Requirements
- Ability to work full-time and maintain reliable attendance.
- Previous shop or dealership experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive repair.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.
- Must pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check, MVR, and drug screening.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and dealership guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an automotive technology program, such as UTI, WyoTech, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a Master Technician mentor to learn dealership procedures and technical skills.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs as outlined on repair orders.
- Assist with vehicle inspections to identify additional service needs.
- Learn to diagnose causes of malfunctions and complete repairs under supervision.
- Complete required OEM online training as part of the apprentice curriculum.
- Request guidance as needed and maintain an active learning mindset.
- Follow safety procedures and dealership guidelines.
