About The Position

As an Apprentice I–IV – Plumbing at a Modigent operating company, you will participate in a structured four-year registered apprenticeship program consisting of approximately 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and related technical instruction. You will progressively develop skills in commercial plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, process piping, medical gas, high-purity systems, fixtures, and backflow prevention, while working under the direct supervision of experienced journeymen and foremen. Progression through Levels I–IV is based on accumulated hours, demonstrated competencies, required coursework and labs, performance evaluations, and advancement reviews. The position progresses from assisting with materials, tools, basic pipe work, and safety practices to performing complex installation, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and documentation with increasing independence. At higher levels, apprentices may lead assigned installation tasks, coordinate with other trades, mentor lower-level apprentices, and prepare for journeyman certification and apprenticeship completion. This is a safety-sensitive role on active construction and job sites. The work requires adherence to Modigent safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific requirements. The physical demands include lifting and carrying up to 50+ pounds; standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and working in confined spaces or at heights for extended periods; and working in dusty, noisy, extreme-temperature, outdoor, and wet environments.
