About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Optician to join its in-house optical team. The role involves learning to help customers find eyewear that meets their prescription needs, fits comfortably, and suits their style and lifestyle. The apprentice works with a mentor who is a licensed optician in licensed states or a certified optician in non-licensed states, while developing optical knowledge and customer-service skills. The position also contributes to team practices for sales and service and represents Warby Parker’s brand, values, and mission.

Responsibilities

• Work with a licensed or certified optician mentor to learn how to meet customers’ eyewear needs.
• Learn to take and record measurements and adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Learn to check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Develop the ability to explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to provide exceptional customer service.
• Learn to help customers select frames and lenses based on prescription needs, fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented across the organization.
• Represent the Warby Parker brand and educate others about its values and mission.
