About The Position

The Machinery & Equipment (M&E) Appraiser conducts inspections, market research, and value analyses for machinery, equipment, and industrial assets across diverse industries. The role supports Hilco’s valuation, advisory, and asset monetization engagements by producing credible, well-documented appraisal reports aligned with client objectives and industry standards. The appraiser may inspect assets on-site or virtually, analyze values for a range of financial and business purposes, and collaborate with senior appraisers, project managers, and other teams. The position also contributes to proposals, project scoping, and client communications while managing multiple assignments and maintaining knowledge of market and industry developments.

Responsibilities

Conduct on-site or virtual inspections of machinery and equipment to assess condition, functionality, and remaining useful life.
Perform valuation analyses for financial reporting, collateral lending, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, insurance, and liquidation.
Research comparable sales data, market trends, and cost benchmarks to support valuation conclusions.
Develop and prepare written appraisal reports that conform to USPAP and Hilco Global’s internal quality standards.
Review client-provided information, including fixed asset listings, depreciation schedules, and financial data, and reconcile it with valuation findings.
Collaborate with senior appraisers, project managers, and other Hilco teams to deliver multi-asset or enterprise-level valuation solutions.
Assist with proposal preparation, project scoping, and client communications.
Maintain current knowledge of market developments, equipment technology, and industry conditions.
Manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Represent Hilco Global with integrity and client service excellence.
