Appraiser III

Assessor•Dublin, CA

About The Position

The Appraiser III works in the Alameda County Assessor’s Office, appraising commercial and industrial real property for ad valorem tax purposes. Under direction, the role collects and analyzes data, performs valuation analysis, and conducts field investigations and studies related to commercial and industrial property valuation. The position may also serve as an appraisal technical specialist, assisting with the development of Assessor’s standards, procedures, forms, and staff training methods. Appraisers III work independently in the field and office with minimal supervision, performing the full range of appraisal functions for land and improvements or supporting technical sections such as Assessor’s Standards and Training. Positions are assigned to the Appraisal Division or a technical section and report to Supervising Appraiser II crew leaders. The role is distinguished from Appraiser II by its focus on commercial and industrial rather than residential and rural property, and from Supervising Appraiser II by its lack of full supervisory responsibility for appraisal units.
