Applied Intuition•Sunnyvale, CA

About The Position

Applied Intuition is seeking a technically strong, customer-facing, execution-driven engineer to help lead a strategic autonomy program with a major automotive OEM customer in Japan, from development through real-world on-road deployment. The role serves as a day-to-day customer contact and technical bridge to Applied’s engineering teams. It involves building trusted relationships with customer engineers and leadership, coordinating parallel workstreams, communicating commitments, risks, and decisions, delivering program milestones, and developing the customer’s in-house capabilities through structured knowledge transfer. The engineer will align teams across autonomy, systems, hardware, integration, and operations; advise the customer on translating autonomy goals into technical requirements and plans; investigate on-road issues; and relay deployment and demonstration insights to product and engineering roadmaps. The role also supports on-road autonomy demonstrations for prospective trucking autonomy customers and other OEMs. Applied Intuition is an in-office company. Full-time employees are expected to work primarily from an Applied Intuition office five days a week, with occasional remote work and schedule flexibility. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions.

  • Align internal engineering teams around milestone delivery and resolve cross-functional topics spanning autonomy software, systems engineering, hardware, integration, and operations.
  • Translate the customer’s high-level autonomy goals into clear technical requirements and actionable plans as a trusted technical advisor.

  • Share insights from hands-on deployment and demonstrations with Applied’s product and engineering roadmaps.
