About The Position

The Application Engineer supports sales of aftermarket tooling, abrasives, spare parts, and service. The role develops abrasive and tool rework opportunities, reviews customer processes, recommends and implements improvements, and optimizes customer tooling. It builds customer relationships through technical expertise, service, and support.

The position focuses on growing the abrasive and tooling business with new applications and customers while retaining current business. The Application Engineer serves as a technical expert for abrasive and tooling solutions, generates sales revenue, and earns customer loyalty and trust. Responsibilities include developing business cases and solutions for new customers and abrasive applications, meeting customer requirements, and meeting with abrasive customers to confirm that their needs and expectations are being met.

Requirements

• Knowledge of honing abrasives and related manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of tool cleaning and assembly.
• Ability to discuss diamond and borzon abrasives.
• Willingness to travel to all customer sites.
• Ability to check tools for proper grind.
• Ability to adjust machine parameters to successfully complete stone trials and tests.
• Ability to set goals and work with minimal supervision to achieve them.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical expert for abrasive and tooling solutions and generate revenue through sales.
• Develop business cases and formulate solutions for new customers and abrasive applications to meet customer requirements.
• Meet with abrasive customers to ensure their needs and expectations are being met.
• Travel to customer sites.
• Check tools for proper grind and adjust machine parameters to complete stone trials and tests.
