About The Position

ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc., a nonprofit that has provided supervision and treatment services for correctional clients in Wisconsin communities since 1977, is recruiting a part-time Apartment Monitor in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The position provides community-based monitoring for correctional clients transitioning back to their home communities after release. Monitors conduct checks on a supervised apartment and on clients residing in the transitional living program. Clients are offenders of varying risk and need who are supervised by the Department of Corrections. The role typically works 2–3 hours per week, with hours generally needed on weekdays and weekends. The Apartment Monitor receives day-to-day direction and assignments from a Case Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Access to a personal vehicle.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
• Ability to travel frequently.
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity when interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and other parties while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong decision-making abilities and self-motivation.
• Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of agency information.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience and/or education related to corrections, community-based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement.
• One year of experience with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds; cultural competence.

Responsibilities

• Receive day-to-day direction and assignments from the Case Manager.
• Report known or possible client violations and safety or security concerns to the appropriate party in a timely manner.
• Monitor client whereabouts and location security during designated periods and shifts.
• Complete and maintain activity records and other required information.
