About The Position

The Apartment Leasing Agent leases apartments at a downtown historic Detroit community and serves as a first point of contact for prospective residents. The role involves understanding prospective residents’ needs, presenting the community and its apartments, building relationships, and providing a positive customer experience. The position offers a salary plus commission and requires weekend work.

Requirements

• Previous sales experience and customer service experience are required.
• Experience within the apartment industry is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of professionalism.
• Ability to quickly develop rapport with prospective residents.
• Motivated self-starter who can work well in a team setting.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous knowledge of Yardi property management software.
• One year of apartment leasing experience preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand potential residents’ needs and provide information about apartments that best fit those needs.
• Check curb appeal and apartments each morning to ensure the community is ready for tours.
• Demonstrate apartment offerings and provide a positive customer experience.
• Follow up on internet and phone leads to set appointments.
• Tour prospective residents and close leases.
• Process applications and prepare lease packages and renewals.
• Conduct move-in orientations and ensure move-in requirements are met.
• Manage marketing and social media for the community.
