About The Position

VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital has opportunities available for Animal Care Attendants to join our fast-paced, AAHA-accredited, 24-hour emergency, specialty referral, and general practice in Downers Grove, Illinois. Veterinary Assistants will primarily work alongside our doctors and technicians to assist in providing patient care. Animal Care Attendant must be motivated and dedicated workers with a strong work ethic, excellent client communication skills and well demonstrated professionalism. This position does require candidates to be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and demonstrate attention to detail while handling heavy caseloads. Specialties include: Oncology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency and Critical Care, and Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

Assist in providing patient care alongside doctors and technicians.
Organize daily duties and procedures to best utilize staff’s time.
Ensure charges, medical history, medications, and laboratory reports are accurately maintained.
Assist with radiology, including x-ray technique and safety.
Assist technicians in diagnostics.
Familiarity with drugs, creating labels, and filling prescriptions.
