Animal Care Attendant
About The Position
Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant at Cosmo's Corner. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a pet care facility, including keeping animals comfortable and their spaces clean, safe, and sanitary. The attendant serves meals and fresh water, monitors each pet’s health and behavior, supervises play, assists with brushing and bathing, and handles laundry and pet belongings. The work is physically active and may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. The position reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work, including getting dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on one’s feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests and report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
