About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at NY Dog Spa + Hotel 20th. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a pet-care facility, helping create a safe, clean, comfortable experience for animal guests and their families. This is an active position that requires being on your feet throughout the shift and working around animals, cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Prior kennel or animal-care experience is helpful but not required; candidates who are new to the work and eager to learn are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

A strong love of animals.
A calm and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on one’s feet for the duration of the shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal-care experience.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Provide pets with meals and fresh water.
Monitor each pet guest’s health and behavior, including elimination, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings to ensure they are clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
