About The Position

The Porter ensures the cleanliness of all areas of Carousel Gardens and Storyland, including grounds, walkways, rides, bathrooms, and offices. The role includes preparing the park for opening each day and recovering it after closing, while providing guest service and communicating potential safety hazards to supervisory staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods, walking, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work weekends, some evenings, and holidays.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Clean all bathroom facilities.
• Walk the grounds to pick up trash and clean spills.
• Ensure rides and ride areas are free of trash and debris.
• Prepare the park for opening each day and recover it after closing.
• Mop and sweep, and move tables and chairs between birthday party areas.
• Wipe down benches, tables, and trash cans as needed.
• Empty trash cans, haul trash to dumpster facilities, and replace trash-can liners.
• Communicate potential hazardous safety conditions to supervisory staff.
• Provide exceptional guest service, answer guest questions, and assist park guests as needed.
