About The Position

The AM Food Server works part time on the morning shift at The Kelly Birmingham, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, as part of the hotel’s restaurant and outlet services team. The role provides attentive, professional guest service by taking and delivering food and beverage orders, checking on guests, and processing payments. It also involves maintaining restaurant organization, inventory, cleanliness, sanitation, and the functionality of service workstations. The position requires working most of the shift standing and moving around restaurant and kitchen areas, and handling physical tasks including lifting and carrying items weighing 50–75 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of server experience in a similar role; experience in a similar-sized operation is preferred.
Alcohol Beverage Servers Certification required.
Food Handlers Certification required.
Ability to kneel, stoop, grasp, lift, carry, and transport 50–75 pounds.
Ability to stand and move about restaurant and kitchen areas for most of the shift.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaged and thoughtful service to guests.
Take and deliver food and beverage orders, revisit tables to refill beverages, and ensure guest satisfaction.
Generate guest checks through the PMS and efficiently receive payments.
Keep the restaurant organized and replenish condiments and supplies.
Monitor inventory to help prevent stock shortages.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and functionality of restaurant and service workstations.
