About The Position

Great Western Dining Service is seeking an AM Cashier at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas. The cashier operates the cash register or Point of Sale (POS) station, handling cash and credit card transactions. The role also supports meal service by preparing the dining room, making tea and coffee, assisting with meal station setup, and cleaning and sanitizing dining areas and equipment. The cashier is expected to maintain a welcoming attitude toward customers and a clean, professional appearance.

Requirements

• Friendly and positive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Background in customer service and hospitality.
• Ability to walk or otherwise remain mobile continuously for up to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and pull, and frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a pleasant, kind, and welcoming attitude toward customers.
• Operate an electronic cash register or POS station, enter correct charges, collect accurate cash or debit/credit card payments, and provide correct change.
• Complete AM HACCP logs.
• Prepare the dining room for the start of meal service.
• Make tea and coffee for each meal service.
• Clean and sanitize dining room surfaces, equipment, workstations, and tables throughout meal service.
• Assist in setting up meal stations with entrée accompaniments or utensils.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
