About The Position

Great Western Dining Service is a food service management company that values creativity, innovation, and collaboration and offers career advancement opportunities. Great Western Dining at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas, is seeking a cashier to operate a cash register or Point of Sale (POS) station and process cash and credit card transactions. The role also supports meal service preparation and upkeep of the dining room.

Requirements

• Friendly and positive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Background in customer service and hospitality.
• Ability to walk or otherwise remain mobile continuously for up to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and pull, and frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in any language other than English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a pleasant, kind, and welcoming attitude toward customers.
• Operate an electronic cash register or POS, enter correct charges, collect accurate cash or debit/credit card payments, and provide correct change.
• Complete AM HACCP logs.
• Prepare the dining room for the start of meal service.
• Make tea and coffee for each meal service.
• Clean and sanitize dining room surfaces, equipment, workstations, and tables throughout meal service.
• Assist with setting up meal stations with entrée accompaniments or utensils.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
