About The Position

The Chateau of Long Beach, a large assisted living facility serving older adults ages 59 and above in Long Beach, California, is hiring compassionate and dependable Caregivers and Medication Technicians. The role supports residents with daily living activities and medication-related documentation while promoting their safety, comfort, engagement, and independence. The employer is willing to train applicants, and no experience is required. The schedule described is an AM shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Full-time and part-time positions are available in various shifts.

Requirements

Pass a DOJ FBI Live Scan criminal background clearance mandated by licensing.
Pass a pre-employment physical and TB test clearance.
High school diploma or GED.
Caregiving and medication-administration experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Complete daily assignments and assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Provide ethical and respectful care to residents.
Document resident information and communicate with physicians and other medical professionals.
Schedule residents’ doctor appointments.
Work with medical professionals to help reduce residents’ pain and promote engagement and independence.
Maintain composure during emergencies and a safe work environment.
Communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with residents, families, and the Wellness Coordinator about changes or concerns.
Complete outstanding paperwork, including filing and logging medication and centrally stored records.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Administration.
