About The Position

The Chateau of Long Beach, a large assisted living facility serving older adults ages 59 and over in Long Beach, California, is seeking compassionate and dependable Caregivers and Medication Technicians. The role supports residents’ daily living needs and promotes their comfort, safety, engagement, and independence. Training is available, and no prior experience is required. The listed full-time schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Part-time positions and other shifts are also available. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered, subject to conditions. Full-time employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

Able to pass the DOJ/FBI Live Scan criminal background clearance mandated by licensing.
Able to pass a pre-employment physical and TB test clearance.
High school diploma or GED required.
Caregiving and medication-administration experience preferred; not required, as training is available.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily assignments and residents’ activities of daily living (ADLs).
Provide ethical and respectful care to residents.
Document resident care and communicate with physicians and other medical professionals.
Schedule residents’ doctor appointments.
Work with medical professionals to reduce residents’ pain while promoting engagement and independence.
Maintain composure during emergencies and help maintain a safe work environment.
Communicate clearly and calmly with residents, families, and the Wellness Coordinator about changes or concerns.
Complete outstanding daily paperwork, including filing and logging medication and centrally stored records.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Administration.
