ALTERATIONS ASSOCIATE

About The Position
As an Alterations Associate, you contribute to Von Maur’s reputation for customer service by performing general alterations on a variety of women’s garments, from formal dresses with beading to tailored clothing. Garment work ranges from basic to moderately difficult sewing and alteration procedures. Candidates must be professionally competent in all basic and most advanced alterations.
Requirements
- Professional competence in all basic and most advanced alterations.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers sincerely, be friendly, and thank every customer.
- Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications.
- Disassemble, sew, and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fittings.
- Use an iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers.
- Repair damaged or defective merchandise.
- Maintain a clean department and work area.
