About The Position

Akima Infrastructure Protection is seeking a part-time Alarm Monitor to work on-site in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. The position monitors surveillance and protective systems, handles radio and telephone communications, maintains duty logs, and coordinates Security Officers and emergency personnel in response to unusual activity or emergencies. Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must pass a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) before commencing work.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must possess a valid Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency certificate.
Must speak English fluently, read and comprehend written English, and compose coherent written reports in English.
Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the applicant’s state of residence.

Responsibilities

Monitor surveillance cameras and equipment.
Monitor access control systems, fire alarms, intrusion detection systems, and other protective equipment and systems.
Monitor and log radio transmissions using call signs.
Answer the telephone and take messages.
Maintain a legible duty log.
Dispatch and/or notify Security Officers of unusual activity.
Report and document unusual activity, summon resources, coordinate emergency personnel responding to emergencies, and document those responses.
