Serves as a NAS Operations Manager (NOM) within the Fort Worth ARTCC Service Operations Center (SOC). The NOM monitors the status of services and systems, performs or directs restoration of interrupted services and systems, and operationally reconfigures them to minimize interruptions and enhance service predictability within the SOC’s area of responsibility. The position ensures the quality of NAS infrastructure services delivered to critical air traffic operations facilities. The incumbent is a principal technical expert for developing solutions to unanticipated situations affecting operationally critical NAS systems and provides agency-wide leadership on highly complex technical activities. The NOM independently evaluates nationwide trends, keeps abreast of technology and new systems, and recommends system and operational enhancements to senior managers. The role formulates local Standard Operating Procedures for emergency and safety situations, reports NAS information that could affect operations for situation awareness, and integrates Operational Risk Management into restorations, scheduled maintenance, and planned projects. The incumbent represents management during non-administrative hours and provides authoritative technical decisions and expert guidance across projects, programs, and functional areas.
