As an Unarmed Security Officer at a government airport location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to travelers and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond to concerns, and use computer or tablet systems as needed. Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License (+1 years)
  • 18+ years of age
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
  • Ability to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and agency personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures and appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport terminals, public areas, exterior grounds, parking facilities, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
  • Monitor access points, restricted-area entry locations, and vehicle or pedestrian activity in accordance with site-specific policies and established reporting procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate airport personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and authorized personnel.
