Aide-Food Service
About The Position
The Aide-Food Service performs general kitchen duties, including food preparation and storage, cleaning and storing dishes, utensils, and pots, and maintaining general department sanitation. The role follows department policies and recipes to prepare and serve snacks and meals to patients and visitors. It supports department operations in areas such as the tray line, cafeteria, dish room, host/hostess service, or catering. The aide communicates effectively and performs competently while adhering to applicable regulations and organizational policies and procedures to protect privacy and safety and support optimal patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic food production and food service knowledge, including the ability to use food service supplies and equipment.
- Knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment, including proper cleaning procedures and equipment use.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Sufficient mathematical ability to perform basic measurement and portioning, including increasing and decreasing recipes.
- Ability to meet established deadlines and multitask in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
Responsibilities
