About The Position

The Food Service Aide provides routine support in food service areas at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Under close supervision, the role helps meet food service demands by preparing patient trays, assisting with food preparation, replenishing supplies, washing dishes and equipment, serving food, and delivering patient trays. The aide may also work in cafeteria areas, including cash-register and cash-handling duties. The position involves operating kitchen and cafeteria equipment, serving hot and cold food according to strict procedures, and maintaining sanitation in food service areas and equipment. The aide follows food-handling procedures and departmental codes to help avoid contamination, wears appropriate shoes and personal protective equipment such as gloves, and participates in departmental meetings and in-services to support continuous improvement. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Basic math skills.
Wear appropriate shoes and personal protective equipment, including gloves, in food service areas.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services.
Perform other related duties as required.
