About The Position

RWS is seeking AI Voice Recording Contributors fluent in French (Cameroon) for a short voice evaluation project supporting the development of speech and language AI technologies. Contributors will use an internal online platform to read provided text prompts aloud, producing recordings that capture natural speech in the target language variant. Approximately 640 text cards are expected per person. Recordings will be used to evaluate responses to spoken instructions against text-based instructions and may be reviewed for quality or incorporated into datasets for AI research, development, testing, and improvement.

This is freelance, remote, task-based work with a flexible schedule of approximately 4–6 hours per day. The project is expected to last approximately one month, starts immediately, and pays USD 10 per hour. Contributors may be asked to re-record submissions to meet quality standards.

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in French (Cameroon).
• Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target dialect or accent through everyday use.
• Advanced English proficiency to understand written instructions.
• Do not imitate dialects or accents that are not your own.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain recording accuracy.
• Quiet room or recording space with minimal background noise.
• Computer microphone or headset with microphone.
• Reliable internet connection.
• Ability to access and use an online recording platform.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with speech recording projects is an advantage but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Read the provided text cards aloud and record them exactly as written.
• Produce clear, natural, high-quality speech recordings in the contributor’s natural dialect and accent, following provided guidelines and instructions.
• Ensure that no words are added, omitted, or altered.
• Re-record submissions if requested to meet quality standards.
• Complete recording tasks using the internal online recording platform.
• Complete a trial voice recording to verify language variant and accent.
