About The Position

AI Conversation Recording Contributors will support a Swati speech data collection project to help evaluate and develop AI technologies. The project involves providing spontaneous speech from real-life situations. Recordings, annotations, and related metadata may be reviewed for quality and incorporated into datasets for research, development, testing, and improvement of AI systems. The work is freelance, remote, flexible, and task-based, approximately 2–4 hours daily. The project duration is to be confirmed, and the stated start date is immediately. Compensation is 8 USD per hour.

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Swati.
• Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target language through everyday use.
• Advanced level of English to understand written instructions.
• Do not imitate dialects or accents that are not your own.
• Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata.
• Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions.
• Quiet room or recording space with minimal background noise.
• Computer microphone or headset with microphone.
• Reliable internet connection.
• Ability to access and use an online recording platform.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Record or collect natural, spontaneous speech in accordance with project guidelines.
• Participate in or capture speech from approved real-life situations, such as workplace conversations or casual one-on-one discussions.
• Complete individual or two-person conversational speech tasks, or participate in voice or voice-text interactions with an AI or machine-based system.
• Annotate collected speech data according to the instructions provided.
• Provide required information and metadata related to each recording.
