About The Position

Ergon Inc. is seeking an AI Solutions Manager to lead its applied AI delivery team within Information Technology. The manager oversees full-stack developers and business analysts who build practical, generative AI-enabled tools and automations for business needs. Working with business leaders across Ergon, the role identifies high-value opportunities, translates business challenges into solutions, and guides delivery using platforms such as Anthropic Claude and OpenAI/ChatGPT.

The role combines people leadership and hands-on software development experience with the ability to make complex technology approachable. The manager guides technical delivery, ensures solutions follow data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices, and collaborates with Enterprise Data & Analytics and Quality Assurance teams to connect with existing data pipelines and support testing before production release. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7–10 years of software or application development experience, including at least 3–5 years managing developers and/or analysts.
• Hands-on experience with large language model platforms such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI/ChatGPT, including prompt engineering, API integration, chatbots, or workflow automation.
• Strong full-stack development background and technical fluency to review code, guide implementation, and remove delivery obstacles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including leading discovery conversations and explaining technical trade-offs in clear, business-friendly language.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to Microsoft Power BI, Salesforce, or SAP.
• Experience supporting internal AI enablement, training, or adoption initiatives.
• Experience managing a blended team of developers and business analysts.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of full-stack developers and business analysts; manage priorities, workloads, one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and hiring as the team grows.
• Partner with business unit leaders to understand operational challenges, identify AI and automation opportunities, and promote practical, high-impact use cases.
• Evaluate requests and recommend an appropriately sized approach, which may include a prompt-based workflow, internal application, AI platform integration, process improvement, or non-AI solution.
• Oversee technical delivery of AI-enabled applications and automations, including prompt design, API integrations, chatbots, and end-user workflows built with Claude/Anthropic and OpenAI/ChatGPT.
• Provide technical guidance through code reviews, troubleshooting, and architectural decisions to support maintainable solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with Ergon's data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices, including appropriate data handling, human review, and automation safeguards.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data & Analytics and Quality Assurance teams to integrate with existing data pipelines and support thorough testing before production release.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
