About The Position

P3 Adaptive is hiring a software engineer to build AI applications across client engagements, company products, and reusable tools for consultants. The role combines client-facing consulting with hands-on engineering. You will work directly with clients and consultants who understand their data to identify business problems and build tailored solutions, such as agents that answer questions about company data or applications that automate repetitive tasks. Projects may change direction when the solution no longer makes sense, and the role emphasizes honest client advice, direct communication, and delivering work that addresses actual business needs. You will lead client conversations from initial discussions through go-live, translate business needs into software, manage project milestones and risks, train client teams, identify additional problems worth solving, and demonstrate solutions and explain their limitations. On the engineering side, you will build and maintain AI applications and agents from prototype through testing and deployment; connect applications to Power BI semantic models, Microsoft Fabric data, and other business systems through APIs with appropriate authentication and permissions; investigate bugs and performance issues; validate AI responses against underlying data; and improve reliability. You will also create examples, templates, and documentation, and evaluate practical AI tools for the team. The team provides support and code review while giving developers responsibility for their work. Independent experimentation is valued, alongside knowing when to ask questions or collaborate. The position is fully remote in the United States, with overlap for a few core hours on weekdays. P3 Adaptive is a data and AI consultancy built on Microsoft technologies and has been modernizing organizations' relationship with data since 2010. The company describes its teams as small, senior, and hands-on, with work that does not pass through a chain of handoffs. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not offered.

Requirements

  • At least three years of software development experience, including maintaining applications after launch.
  • Experience building web applications with React and TypeScript, including connecting interfaces to APIs and working with application data.
  • Hands-on experience developing software with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex, including providing context, guiding work, reviewing changes, and verifying results.
  • Solid programming fundamentals, including comfort using Git, reading unfamiliar code, and tracing problems through an application.

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem and the basics of cloud services, authentication, and permissions.
  • Ability to connect business impact with technical quality and translate client frustrations into technical and human solutions.
  • Comfort presenting to both C-suite executives and front-line managers with professional presence.
  • Clear communication, including explaining technical decisions to developers and describing applications to people who do not write code.
  • Independent experimentation, initiative, and willingness to ask questions or work through problems with others.
  • Authorization to work in the United States; the employer does not sponsor work visas.

  • Build and maintain AI applications and agents, taking features from prototype through testing and deployment.
  • Connect applications to Power BI semantic models, Microsoft Fabric data, and other business systems through APIs, with appropriate sign-in and access permissions.
  • Investigate bugs and performance problems, validate AI responses against underlying data, and improve application reliability.
  • Create examples, templates, and documentation so others can use and maintain the work.
  • Try new AI tools on practical problems and share findings about what is useful and why.
