About The Position

The AI Solutions Engineer Lead Senior leads end-to-end application system development and maintenance on large, complex, enterprise-wide technology platforms. This hands-on engineering role builds AI-enabled systems and uses AI agents and coding assistants throughout the software development lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support. The role drives adoption of AI capabilities across the portfolio, establishes best practices, and mentors teams in scaling AI-enabled engineering.

The position leads agentic AI solution development and architecture, including orchestration, tool integration, and reusable enterprise patterns. It defines model evaluation frameworks and supports continuous improvement in quality, accuracy, safety, and performance. The engineer works with customers and business partners to gather requirements, review designs, guide technical direction, and deliver application technology and data-information planning. The role also oversees technical specifications, design and code reviews, testing, implementation, change requests, enhancements, monitoring, and on-call support, while coordinating with other teams and stakeholders on enterprise solutions and long-term technology direction.

This role requires associates to work in-office three days per week. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance of the posting location unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. The position is classified as Non-Manager Exempt NAIM Access. Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and at least 9 years of experience; alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with multidimensional platforms and business and technical applications.
• Strong hands-on engineering experience building AI-enabled systems and using AI agents and coding assistants across the software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, data privacy, and secure handling of sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

• Experience mentoring others, driving teams to achieve results, leading multiple or large projects, and providing troubleshooting support.
• Multi-database and/or multi-language experience.
• Experience in US healthcare, payer, claims, clinical, HIPAA, PHI, regulated-industry, or enterprise-security environments.
• Project leadership experience, including Agile project management and Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe).
• Knowledge of Agile/SAFe delivery and portfolio management tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience integrating AI into tools such as JIRA or similar delivery platforms.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including cloud-native development, APIs and microservices, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure SDLC.
• Experience building or integrating AI agents, tool/function calling, RAG, memory, model routing, evaluations, guardrails, observability, and secure API/tool access.
• Experience building LLM or SLM applications.
• Ability to review, test, and harden AI-generated code.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and architecture of agentic AI solutions, including orchestration, tool integration, and reusable enterprise patterns.
• Use AI coding tools daily or weekly, such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar tools.
• Define and implement model evaluation frameworks covering quality, accuracy, safety, and performance, and guide continuous improvement.
• Apply knowledge of industry trends, responsible AI, data privacy, and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Improve AI output quality through prompt optimization and model tuning.
• Maintain active customer relationships, determine business requirements, lead requirements-gathering meetings, and review designs with the business.
• Anticipate broad technical change and help ensure company technology stays ahead of the curve.
• Understand and articulate the architecture, scaling limits, and reliability limits for a major part of the business.
• Own the change request process and coordinate with other teams as necessary.
• Develop and own the list of final enhancements.
• Define application scope and objectives and supervise preparation of technical and functional specifications.
• Conduct technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Ensure unit and system testing are completed according to test plan requirements and that systems are implemented according to plan.
• Lead delivery of application technology solutions and data-information planning efforts.
• May participate in developing multi-year technology strategy for critical business areas spanning multiple systems.
• Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify the long-term technical trajectory of technology infrastructure.
• Create architecture and anticipate future technology needs.
• Lead internal discussions on the direction of major technology areas, build broad team consensus for that direction, and apply it when engaging engineers.
• Coordinate and manage on-call support and own the system monitoring process.
• Review and monitor initiatives for end-to-end impact and coordination.
• Participate in review and decision-making for enterprise solutions.
• Mentor teams and help scale AI-enabled engineering practices.
