About The Position

Fisher Phillips is seeking an inquisitive AI Solutions Engineer with legal applications experience to evaluate, configure, integrate, and build technology solutions for legal work and business operations. This role connects business needs with technical capabilities, working with legal professionals, business stakeholders, and technical teams to understand problems, investigate systems, validate functionality, and deliver practical solutions. The position is based in Atlanta, is hybrid, and requires the employee to reside in the Atlanta area. The successful candidate combines analytical skills with hands-on technical ability. Solutions should deliver business value while considering scalability, maintainability, security, data governance, and operational risk. The role includes evaluating AI-enabled workflows, developing prototypes and lightweight applications, configuring applications and automation, and designing integrations between internal and third-party systems. It also supports testing, implementation, user adoption, issue investigation, documentation, and ongoing improvement. Fisher Phillips describes its environment as professional and dynamic, with opportunities for professional growth and meaningful challenges.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience supporting and designing enterprise-scale legal technology solutions and integrations.
  • Experience working with LLMs and building agentic processes and workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to break down ambiguous problems and validate conclusions with evidence.
  • Proven ability to work with AI to test, troubleshoot, and maintain code in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or a comparable language, emphasizing readable, reusable, and well-documented solutions.
  • Experience translating business needs into technical requirements and explaining technical concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences.
  • Collaborative approach, sound judgment, and effective communication across business and technical teams.
  • Attention to data quality, integration, access controls, confidentiality, and operational reliability.
  • Ability to balance exploration with delivery and recognize when investigation is sufficient to move forward.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with legal applications and platforms such as iManage, M365, Aderant, Litera, or Intapp.
  • Knowledge of APIs, data structures, Databricks and SQL, and scripting or other tools used to investigate systems and automate work.
  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar systems independently.
  • Experience supporting legal teams, law firms, corporate legal departments, or other professional services organizations.
  • Experience with cloud applications, enterprise integrations, workflow automation, AI-enabled solutions, and data lakes.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical alternatives and recommend solutions based on scalability, maintainability, risk, and business value.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with legal and business teams to understand workflows, identify challenges, and translate needs into requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Explore applications through hands-on testing, documentation review, data and integration analysis, and discussions with users and vendors.
  • Validate whether system functionality and AI capabilities meet business needs, and identify limitations, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
  • Determine whether to use existing functionality, configure an application, integrate systems, or develop a custom solution, considering business value, scalability, maintainability, security, and operational risk.
  • Configure applications, workflows, permissions, and automation for legal and operational processes.
  • Develop prototypes and proofs of concept to test ideas and reduce uncertainty before broader implementation.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, reusable functions, and lightweight applications to extend system capabilities, transform data, connect applications, and automate business processes.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain integrations between internal systems and third-party applications using APIs, web services, and appropriate integration tools.
  • Evaluate AI-enabled workflows for accuracy, reliability, appropriate data access, and failure handling, incorporating human review where needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, security, data, and application teams to design and deliver reliable solutions.
  • Investigate issues across applications, integrations, and data flows to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Document findings, configurations, solution designs, and support procedures in language appropriate for the audience.
