About The Position

The Pennsylvania Department of Aging is seeking an Aging Services Specialist to help ensure eligible individuals receive needed services and support. The position supports a network of Area Agencies on Aging by guiding program policy, training staff, and improving services for older adults and their caregivers. Its work contributes to the department’s vision of a Pennsylvania where older adults are embraced and empowered to live and age with dignity and respect, and its mission to promote their independence, purpose, and well-being.

Requirements

• Two years of professional experience in a human services program conducting human services-related research or providing social services to clients, and a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
• Be able to perform the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate program activities across an assigned region to support consistent and effective service delivery.
• Create, review, and update procedures to strengthen program operations.
• Provide direction, training, and support to agencies administering the Caregiver Support Program.
• Study program information to understand trends and identify ways to improve services.
• Build partnerships with internal and external groups to support program goals.
