About The Position

The Parkview Family YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and attentive part-time childcare workers to support its After School YMCA Program. Site Assistants help provide diverse participants with educational, age-appropriate activities in a safe, fun, and nurturing learning environment. They connect with participants, parents, and supervisors; actively engage in providing quality care; and assist with lessons while leading safe activities. The position is at the Parkview Family YMCA in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during the 2026–2027 school year, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old and attending school.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supervising multiple children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Connect quickly with program participants, parents, and supervisors with a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor.
• Actively engage with participants and provide quality care.
• Assist in implementing lessons and lead safe activities that engage participants in planned activities.
• Help provide educational and age-appropriate activities in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.
