About The Position

The Parkview YMCA is hiring part-time Childcare Site Directors to provide childcare support in area elementary schools for its Before and After School YMCA Program. Site Directors provide educational, age-appropriate activities for diverse participants and help create a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment and memorable YMCA experiences. The role is located at Parkview Family YMCA in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the 2026–2027 school year. Pay is $15.25–$15.75 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Have experience supervising multiple children.
• Be able to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
• Be able to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
• Be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.

• Experience in supervision is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, open relationships and maintain consistent, effective communication with branch management, staff, students, and parents.
• Actively engage with and provide quality care for program participants.
• Plan for and implement a set curriculum and schedule.
• Serve as a liaison between program participants at the site and the Child Care Services Director.
• Demonstrate leadership by working with fellow staff, soliciting input, and giving direction.
• Provide educational and age-appropriate activities that support a safe, fun, and nurturing learning environment.
